1. Your library stays on your device

Stakka stores your bookmarked URLs, titles, notes, tags, folders, favorites, reading status, and cached previews in local app storage. The main app and its iOS share extension use a shared local container so that links saved from other apps appear in your library.

The current version does not require a Stakka account and does not upload your bookmark library to a Stakka server. It does not provide cloud sync.

2. Previews and pages make web requests

When Stakka fetches a link preview, your device contacts the original website through Apple’s Link Presentation framework. Websites receive the information normally involved in a web request, such as your IP address, requested URL, and technical request information.

Opening a saved page or an embedded video contacts the website or media provider and loads its content inside Stakka. Providers may use cookies, collect information about those visits, or require a sign-in under their own privacy policies. Stakka’s local storage does not make these external websites private or offline.

Stakka does not bypass private content, paywalls, login requirements, or restrictions on embedded playback. If a preview cannot load, the saved link remains in your library.

3. No advertising or analytics SDK in this build

The current Stakka app does not include advertising, cross-app tracking, or a third-party analytics SDK. Apple may make crash reports or diagnostics available to developers according to your device’s diagnostic-sharing settings and Apple’s policies.

4. You control your library

• Edit: Change a bookmark’s folder, note, tags, favorite status, or archive status.
• Delete: Delete individual bookmarks and their saved notes from Organize. Deleting a folder moves its bookmarks to Inbox.
• Export: Save a JSON backup containing your links, folders, tags, and notes. You decide where to keep or share it.
• Restore: Replace the current library with a backup you select. Export the current library first if you need to preserve it.
• Website data: Clear cookies and website sign-ins from Settings without deleting your bookmarks.

Local library information remains until you delete it or remove the app. Exported backups remain wherever you saved them. System backups may include app data depending on your device and backup settings; manage those backups through the relevant Apple or storage-provider controls.

5. This website and support

This website uses Vercel Web Analytics on its production domain to understand page visits, referral sources, and aggregate device and browser information. It does not use cookies for analytics. URL query parameters and fragments are removed before analytics events are sent. This website analytics integration does not access your Stakka bookmark library. The hosting provider also processes ordinary web requests to deliver pages and maintain service security. See Vercel’s Web Analytics privacy information.

6. Changes to this information

If Stakka’s features or data handling change, this page will be updated. The date above identifies the current version. New services such as sync, analytics, or subscriptions would require corresponding disclosures.
